Just one more Torque converter question
Just one more Torque converter question
Ok, so yesterday I installed my Juice with attitude and all seemed to be fine, I drove it kind of hard, not with the TC locked up though, like lugging or anything. Tonight while in town at about 30mph or so with OD off it would lock, unlock really fast and repeatedly, if I turned the juice off of say stage 2 back to stock, it still did it for a while, then seemed to be better, So I was thinking maybe not enough throttle percentage to keep the TC locked? Does this sound right??? Throttle % was roughly 10-14, or somewhere in that range, when going home in OD on stock it locked up just fine, when I turned it on stage 1 or 2 it was still staying locked. What do you think, I am going to buy a VB in about a month or 2, hopefully I dont have to buy one sooner, or even worse a tranny. Maybe a pressureloc would be ok for now????

I had the same problem, so i installed the BD valve body and TCI troque converter. Holds great and didn't break the bank. The guys at BD said you don't need the pressure lock unless runnin the exhaust brake.

So do you mean everytime the throttle% goes up it will lock and when it decreases it unlocks? When cruising in OD throttle position varies and it doesnt unlock. And when Im accelerating it still does it!

There are no codes, if that is what you mean. I think I will do a pressure test on it to be sure that is whats causing it though. The other possibility could be Ground connections I guess since I did unhook them when I installed the Juice.

Well the truck acted up again today after some driving in town around lock up speed with OD off, long story short I cleaned the battery terminals up like new, and so far...knock on wood...all seems to be working good. I still am going to get the VB next week, but I hope the TC can wait until I can afford it. Thanks for all you help guys.
