Interior colors
Why did Dodge move to the light grey after '04?
I'm looking to get back into a RAM (after owning two 03s) and I really miss the dark charcoal interior. The light grey just doesn't look as good, IMO.

my 05 has dark slate gray interior. The headliner and door pillars are Taupe (Light Gray) all 03-05's are that color... But then again I have a horse of a not so common breed, SLT with Dark Slate Gray Leather seats.

As to your question, my 2006 has a light gray interior, but I remember seeing darker grays when I was shopping...

I would say economics are the major reason for the change. I prefer a black interior, but I am sure it would not be as cost effective to have different materials for the interior in different colors. There's always spray paint!!!

edit: Looks like 05 still had the charcoal grey.

I've got the toaster, but it's not so good for towing or hauling heavy loads. I was holding onto my H1 as the household truck. I thought I could continue to live with its not-so-stellar highway/hauling abilities, but . . . . . I just can't do it. I sold my 2500 RAM to get the 3500. Then I sold the 3500 when it got stuck so badly in the snow and got the Element as a commuter. But . . . now I'm going to hop back into a RAM and just make sure I have a winch. and maybe some chains. So, after 10 years, I'm going to be HUMMERless.

The 06s dont have the dark slate grey interior available, im pretty sure the 07s dont either. I wish they did cause the light interiors seem to stain for no reason

And I just prefer the darker color interior.
As soon as I actually sell my other truck, I'll be trying to find a SRW 3500, 6spd. with darker interior.
