HA! you think that's bad, the VIN for my 1957 Berkley was 449...that one can ride comfortably in the bed.

Nah, it's not worth the trouble to fight these worthless idiots. I'd politely say, "yes it does exist, and if you don't acknowledge that I'm just going to dump you and go somewhere else for insurance."

With the number of insurance companies out there it just isn't worth the time and effort to argue with the bad ones.

The VIN you are using might be from a donor truck. Even a gasser or something. Does the VIN not exist at all or it doesn't exist for a 92 CTD?

They might be looking at it as a regular light truck, is there a different VIN sequence for a Cab and Chassis? ( Which is what you have )

Just a thought.

I know I had to submit an additional form on my 90 since it was a cab and chassis. They recognized the VIN, but needed to know how it was set up.

Stopped at a Farmer's Mutual agent this evening. My VIN is invalid, too. There is a 4 halfway through, he brought up a 91 D250, and it had something else where my 4 is. I think he might have put 91 instead of 90, though, in on my info.

They quoted me 350/6 months, I'm paying that in two with the current company. Who gave e 30 days to find another insurance company since they don't underwrite policies in NE.

Bring the truck and have them come out and inspect the VIN...case closed. Don't matter if your VIN say "Big OL' Turd" if that's what's on the dash then that's how it should be registered and insured under.

I've had insurance agents argue that my old cars don't have enough characters in the VIN....I usually welcome them to a world before 1990. Show them the car and VIN and away I go.
