injectors or turbo?
injectors or turbo?
hi there ive got an 03 so cummins ove got the edge juice exhaust intake and fuel pump wat would be my next step a turbo or injectors? my boost never seems to pas 25-28 lbs and my temps rarely reach 1300 degrees a bit of smoke on level 5 and six so what you guys think?
what are you doing with the truck? Auto or Stick? and does you sig have all you mods? i would also do a turbo before injectors but this is a need to know to tell what turbo to go with....
This is just my expeiriance, tranny first then turbo, injectors, ect, ect.... Getting the power to the ground you have now will surprise you. If you've got the money for those upgrades spend it where you are going to see the most differance. If i could do it again, thats what id do first. As far as the edge/ new turbo, i have no clue. I had quadzilla with the BD super b, hardly any cruising, WOT 150* cooler, Smarty dropped my EGTs more than anything.
I built 4" exh. first and then changed the turbo before adding fuel. The turbo alone really woke up my truck - huge improvement for smoothing out the entire power curve and much better top end power. The SO/HO turbos are lousy. Craig

Definitely do not do injectors first! You are already at the limit of your turbo. 03-04 turbos are not that great. 04.5 and up turbos are actually pretty good. If you are not wanting to go much higher in power potential than where you are at now, then a good choice is a BD super B, or a stock HE351, or a Garrett stage 2 gt3782r. Of those three, the HE351 will be the cheapest and also the slowest spooling. If you do wish to do injectors later, and you want more power, then you need to define your goal up front. The turbo advice will change according to your goal. A step up after that will be s300 based turbos like a 62.
