Injectors???

Trans is in and done and finally working as it should and i am ready to add some power to the truck. I picked up a good hx40 for cheap and was wondering what i should do for injectors? I was looking at sdx 5x.012s but i'm not honestly sure what direction i should take? Any opinions or feedback would be great help.

Also if i'm going to add this much power would it be worth it to just take the head off and have it studded and o-ringed before i go blowing head gaskets?

Oh Oh, cheap hx40 turbo......sounds like you might have bought one of many hx40's that float from one guy to another, seeing as many buy the wrong hx40 that is a lag pig.

Even if you bought one of the 2 streetable hx40's out of about 20 different ones available, I wouldn't worry about o-ringing your head as the hx40 turbo won't survive for very long over 40psi anyways.

i re tourqed my head bolts to 140ftlbs.

stopped a head gasket leak and ran it for a year.

5x12 are a little bit large.might be hard to clean up without a good hx40 or
he351 depending on how your fuel screw is set.

Hoping you have one of the few good one's. You would not believe how many people contact me about the hx40 they bought and installed, only to find out they can't spool it. They want to know what they can change to make it work. I tell them "change out the turbo for a S300". Most end up selling it cheap again and the circle continues.

If the HX-40 has a 16cm housing, it might not be so bad with 5x.012s. I'm running an HTT Super 40/35 hybrid with 5x.012s and only see a little haze at WOT and 37-38psi. If the HX-40 was cheap or darn near free, it's worth experimenting with and unless you know it's a genuine Holset, I'd be cautious of pushing 40psi.

Take a look at injectorparts.com ordered a set of 200hp 5x16s today so no feedback on quality but from doing from digging on cumminsforum and other sites they are very nice and quality. They are on the cheap side but couldnt find anything negative except for people really sticking to the "ya get what you pay for" theory. Great customer service to boot, have been emailing a sales guy throughout the day with questions even got a $20 discount

Low Budget Diesel Performance is where I bought my 5x.012s. Nick and Chris do a great job and were trained by and work directly with the infamous Weston himself. Their prices are really competitive as well. I only paid $450 for mine.
