Injector install info
Can someone send me some info on how to change injectors on a 01 24v? Also let me know if i need any special tools to do this and how difficult this job is. Thanks
The tech section on here has some instructions. Here are some more http://www.citydiesel.net/newsdesk_i...&newsdesk_id=8 It is really easy to do. When I did my nozzles, it took me about an hour and a half the first time. When I removed them to get them pop-tested, it took me about 30 minutes. Good luck and have fun!!

A good tool to have is a shorty or stubby 3/4" for the #6 injector line. I just did mine and had a few minor issues so I had to pull my new ones out, and put the stock ones back in to have the new ones recalibrated and popped. also remember that before even attempting to remove the nozzle itself, make double sure that you slide the injector connector tube out at least 1/2". On the back three you can't see it, this has to be done by feel and with a small tweaker screwdriver. I slid all six of mine out, counted them and then recounted them again to be se sure they were all clear before even loosening the nozzle. If you don't, you will damage the connector tube and then you be in deep dung
. Ensure you install new o-rings on top of the injectors and new copper sealing washers on the bottom. I used a dab of antiseize to hold them on while installing. When you reinstall do not over tighten the injector line nuts that go into the head, they only need to be torqued to 27ft lbs. Take you time and enjoy. any questions, please feel free to contact me

anyone who says this job is easy is crazy...or else the size of a small child. im a big guy and its dern near impossible to reach the #6 injector, so it takes a while. i did my second injector swap monday night and it was 2 hours from start to finish, and that was quick compared to my first 4 hour adventure. if its your first time, be prepared to cuss alot at things like the engine lifting block because those bolts are tight, and getting the valve cover off is not exactly a simple or clean task
