Idle Speed/ Fuel prssure
Hello,I`m new here, and enjoy the format. I have a few questions. Is there anyway to lower the idle speed on my 01` HO ? Its at 850-rpm now ,and is backed off as far as it will go. Also has anyone experimented with fuel pressure to gain peformance?

Well not too sure about this, but I would think that you need atleast that much rpm at idle to keep the temp up, to keep from allowing fuel in to the cylinder (such as long periods of idling). That rpm is set there from the factory for a reason. Maybe someone else will chime in for some more info.

think of this its a diesel and it ment to run the ***** off a bear and if you lower the ideal you could be asking for problems such as not getting up to temp your oil presure will be down and ideling at a lower rpm wiht a lower oil presure not good and the build up of unburnt diesel is another factor. just my .02

Is the idle not control by the PCM on the 2001?
My 2001 sits at 800 right on the nose when i had the diagnostic tool hooked up to it sitting in park. I know it drops a good 50 to 100 rpm when placed in gear.
Raising fuel pressure in the feed lines beyond 20 psi has resulted in hard starting conditions with some ppl.
Best thing to do for more get up and go is some guages(fuel pressure. boost, egt ) and a fueling box in that order.....
Have fun
