Hummer H1 Diesel?

What engine is in the H1? Says only 190 HP and 430 ft. lbs. Is that the old GM Diesel? For $115,000? No thanks.

There's always the H2, or should I say Suburban, with a different look. Well worth the "bling bling"...Not.

I know I've seen Hummers (the original, not that H2 POS) with Cummins badges on the side of them.

Don't know if they were professional conversions, or personal, but with as many as I've seen I'd lean towards professional.

I wouldn't mind having one with a Cummins in it.

phox

I couldn't agree more, Phox. Then you'd have a reliable vehicle, quite possibly worth the extra coin. And a heck of a lot of fun to 4-wheel in.

Could also be an NA 6.2......

For what a H1 costs, a person can build a Cummins Ram that will go just as many places, and haul twice as much stuff.

Re:Hummer H1 Diesel?

The GM 6.5 turbo isn't much of a diesel engine, I admit. But I seen a few of them, fitted with marine pistons, cams, bigger injectors, etc., which run very, very well once they can get started.

Re:Hummer H1 Diesel?

For a fraction of the cost, you can get a more reliable diesel truck with far more capabililty. In a word...Unimog. Its what you drag your Hummer out of the mud with. ;D
