Horn chirp softer?

Just a quick question, my wife and I were heading into the store and I chirped the locks and the horn sounded real soft, almost like when you have one of two horns out. Figured it wasn't a big deal and I'd look at it when we got home; but while we were out I had to actually use the horn and it sounded at "full" strength. I actually just assumed it was because I was in the cab that it sound normal. We get home and I try honking with the wheel and chirping with the keyfob and there is definitely a noticeable difference. I tried it with my wife's key, figuring it was the battery in mine, but no change. I just ended up disabling the chirp, since I was sick of it anyways, but would like to figure out what the deal is in case there's anything else to it.

Anybody ideas?

Interesting, I notticed mine doing that the other day too. Thought maybe I was hearing things or the wind was too loud or something. But yea now and then it will sound softer than usual.

Today was one of our warmest days in the part month or two (a whopping 35), and it's always sounded at full blast when we've been a lot colder. Oh well, disabling it "fixes" it anyways

I turned off my horn chirp, way too loud, it'd make people jump when I locked my doors.

Ditto on turning it off. The flashing lights is enough for me.

if you have the mopar alarm system there is an option for a 'short' or 'long' honk for the arm and disarm. You can program it yourself by entering the programming mode of the alarm as well as other options.

After driving my truck through a decent mud hole my horn has never been the same. For a few weeks it didnt make any noise at all. Then slowly it started to sound kinda like a bug zapper when I would use the lock button. Now, it is back to about 3/4's as loud as before.

I do agree with the comment above about the horn sounding softer when it is colder out.
