Higher GSK needed??

Higher GSK needed??
Here's my problem, at WOT the 2nd-3rd shift and 3rd-OD shift is delayed. It'll wind out as high as it'll go (maybe 2500-2700rpms) and sit there, defuel from 35lbs of boost to 20lbs or so then shift. It seems as if the motor hits a goverend spot and sits there for maybe 2 seconds then shifts which is what makes me think it's GSK related. The truck sort of sounds like I'm driving a 5 speed from outside because of the time delay between shifts. Tranny has less than 500 miles on it and I adjusted the kickdown cable when I installed it. I also put on a new tps and set it around 0.8 if I remember right. Does it sound like my stock GSK isn't allowing the motor to rev high enough to reach a certain shift point? It did this with the old tranny too but it was worse, like 5 second delays between shifts. I just want quick bangbang shifts through the gears, not ..........bang..........bang like what it's doing now. Thanks everyone

I haven't checked but are the shifts based on speed? Maybe the motor defuels before the certain mph is reached needed for the shift and that's causing the delay? If that's the case the GSK would fix the problem right?

Are you sure you adjusted the cable properly?
When I put the built tranny in the '98, I had to adjust the cable several times until it would allow the engine to wind up to redline at WOT without hanging there.... had to give up a couple of hundred RPM to get a reliable shift point every time.

I think a GSK would work, I've got a similar problem were I am going from 35 down to 30 lbs when I get around the 2500 to 2700 rpm range and it seems like the engine hangs there at about 2700-2800 for a second before the tranny shifts, I am gonna install a 4000 GSK here in a week or so and see what happens. It should allow the engine to pull harder at higher rpms without loosing any power.

Yes it will help radically and allow your fueling right up to and past the shift point with the 100 plate.
Also your TPS should be set at 1.4-1.5v

What Ratsun said is correct
its night and day between the stock Governer springs and the 3 or 4 K GSK. I will say this tho, the 4k can be a bit touchy if not adjusted properly, but it will really wake ur truck up once u get it in. Also that smaller pump might be defueling much quicker, IE it dont fuel as hard as a larger pump, and as a result that is hurting you...
