Help! Installing ATS exhaust manifold

I am having trouble with the rear water hose. I have taken off the nut, and both bolts but I still cannot get it to move one bit. It is the only thing left holding on the manifold. Any suggestions?

Which one? The one coming out of the block, or the one on the side of it?

I don't know if it's the same on the 06's...

I bent mine with vise grips but it was a pain. twenty minutes of grunting to get it off. And just as long going back on. I wanted to cut it but thought maybe it would rub later on. Good luck.

The bracket is the one that connects to the rear lower manifold stud. The pipe curves around behind the motor and I can't tell where it goes from there. I've taken out all the bolts I can find and it still does not budge. I guess I will have to cut it off. Thanks guys!

Yeah, I read that. I cannot get mine to move at all. I've taken off the nut and both bolts.

You got the one that is below the front of the manifold kind of above the oil filter? I am pretty sure you just said that, just checking. Thanx.

I bent mine back with a pry bar. On reinstall, I didn't put the nut back on it, just slid the bracket back over the stud.

Please let me know how the install goes.....I just bought an ATS manifold and am dreading the removal of the stock manifold!

Worried that I am going to break some studs off......is this better to do with a cold or warm block?

Ok, I figured it out. There is a bracket for the tube mounted on the drivers side of the transmission bell housing. I took the nut off with a 10mm wrench and the pipe moved away enough to get everything off. In hind sight though it probably would have been easier to cut off the bracket that connects to #6but I did not really want to cut it off. The down side was when I went to install the manifold and turbo (HTT 64/65/13ss) the back side of the manifold did not line up right. So, as the instructions say you have to hit it with a rubber mallet to line it up. NOT EASY. There is not really any room in there to do that. I used two rubber mallets, one that I propped against the manifold and the other to hit the first one with. It lined up and I'm almost done. Just looking for torque specs and procedure now. I did the removal and install by myself but I don't recommend it. It would have been nice to have someone to hold everything in place while putting in the bolts. BTW, put the bolts in one end first just in case you have to line up the manifold.
