about gutting birds! Ever heard of this?
Just curious if any of yall have heard of or tried this method...

I've done it. It takes a little practice, though. You've got to make sure that your boots are as close to the body of the bird as possible and use a slow steady pull. Don't jerk the legs upward. Quail are the only birds I've tried it on. It's just as easy to push your thumb under the breast and peel it back and then trim the wings off with EMT shears. Works like a champ.

That's the only way to gut a Grouse!
Works great till your friend blows the legs off the lil' sucker! Then you got do rip it a part with your hands.. Not fun...
This method even works on larger birds (Turkey's Etc.)

as has been said, it has to be a fresh kill for it to work best I have done it on grouse.
As a side question, how long does everyone let your birds "age" before eating?
I like to leave them sit in the frig 2-3 days before cooking.
