getrag rebuild time

So it's time to rebuild the getrag before she blows. I was pondering an nv4500 but i can rebuild the 'rag for alot cheaper so i'll give it a try. Is any rebuild kit better than any other, and where to get a rebuild manuel?

Thanks in advance, ONETWOPUNCH

PM me your e-mail and I'll e-mail you the Getrag portion of the '93 FSM. It's what I used to rebuild mine.

I don't know if any are better or not.

I got my bearing kit from Standard Transmission. They bearings were all Timken at least. The synchros were made in India IIRC.

tbtrans.com is where I got my parts. Best prices I found and seemed decent quality.

I Think the online vendor I last checked with Getrag Rebuild Parts included Koyo Bearings... I would try and get timkin, personally.

Yes and actually when I had My getrag apart to replace the input shaft, I noticed that it had koyo installed so it had already been rebuilt by a trans haus in less than 130,000 miles

I got mine from Zumbrota Bearing and Gear. I found out AFTER i bought the stuff through ebay that my g-f's shop has an account with them.

If you have any questions, just holler- there are a few guys who know them well.

If you decide to go the NV4500 route, I'll buy your old Getrag from you.
