fuel tank bottom feed
A year or two ago there were several threads about a bottom feed on our tanks. Anyone know where I can get one.
Ran the darn truck out of juel in the middle of the night in the middle of a bridge. Tense moments. The fuel gage read accurately but it ran out before reaching empty. Filling it up it took 29.9 gallons and the fuel gage read as it should for that amount.
Lot of walking, I was not happy. After putting 3 1/2 gallons in, after a long walk, after getting covered with diesel, the darn thing did not want to pick up, finally did. Had to bleed the injectors to get it fired.
Diesel should be on a bottom feed, anyone know where they sell these?

I remember seeing something about it. Don't know if it was on this site or not. Seems to me it was a nipple fitting with some type of fiber washers on either side.
I know most tractors and such have this type, but they are metal tanks. Don't think I would be all that comfortable with using one on our poly tanks.
My guage has not worked since I got the truck, so if I ever forget to reset the odometer, I expect I'll be in the same shoes.
