Tank bottom feed in.
Tank bottom feed in.
I drained and installed the bottom feed today. I used the bulkhead fitting for air brake air lines to go through the frame. Brazed a large washer under the head and put same size washer on the bottom. Worked out well, raised the fuel pressure some, made the gage steady, no more vibration. (??)
I looked the stock setup over real good, took it all apart, could find nothing wrong with it, everything seems is good shape and doing what it is supposed to, but the change cured my problems, eliminated the air pickup. With only four gallons in the tank, the pump went bang up to 15, immediately.
My fuel pressures. I had 15 idle and 14 wot with the FASS. When changing the engine and had to go to the banjo fitting again, it went to 15 at start, 13 running and 12 WOT. Now with this change it is back to 15 idle and running, 13 and a little more WOT. And now no air in the system.
