Also Why?
Also you want to figure out why you burnt it up maybe get a set of Larry B's starter contacts and or relay depending on what was the cause of soleniod failure...

I am 99.9% sure your old solenoid is perfectly fine, the problem lies elsewhere and is considerably cheaper to repair. If just the solenoid is replaced the problem will likely come right back.
The solenoid is probably the most unnessarily replaced item on a 12 valve when nothing is wrong with it. Dealers love to replace solenoids when blindly throwing parts at a problem.
The solenoid is a simple, tough unit that should last the life of the truck unless the starter contacts stick and overheat it. Then it will look visibly burnt up on the outside.

What Bill said.
If you can turn the ignition switch to RUN then pull the solenoid up and it stays on its own then it is the relay. If your starter has been acting up there is a small chance that you may have nuked the solenoid but mostly likely not. The relays are $50 from the dealer but Larry Foster has them much cheaper.
You can always do the manual shutoff cable replacement for the solenoid and never have to worry about the realys or solenoid again.

Yep When Mine burned Up you could tell I was not able to turn off my truck so looked under the hood and the smoke was pouring out of the solenoid, The top melted right off. I went to unplug it to prevent wire meltdown and still have a scar it waas so hot. I believe mine melted because of starter contact stick But could have been related to fuel solenoid relay (Someone had replaced it but not bolted to the fire was it was dangling upside down and meltdown took place in a huge rainstorm relay was full of water...) But when I replaced the starter contacts they look like the real culprit..
