anyone heard of a fuel pressure regulator valve on the common rail?

 

I haven't been under the hood of a CTD with comin rail but many gassers and yes they do and it is at the return to the tank , it restricks the return flow to make pressure on the supply side and if controled by vacume from intake on gassers but diesels do'nt make vacume in the intake , hope this helps.
