Exhaust in front of Rear Wheel

I've got rip's shorty kit with the muffler delete, I'll see if I can find some pics of it. The soot on the wheel isn't too bad and my truck can blow quite a bit of smoke. At least on the stock chrome wheels, it comes off real easy. A touchless drive through car wash had mine looking as clean as all the other wheels.

with the 6spd and stock tires, it's pretty ungodly loud inside at 65-70 especially under a load(BAD resonance right at 2000rpm), but at 75-80 and above, it's amazingly quiet and completly tolerable. The nice thing about Rip's kit is that for $35 extra he'll throw in the muffler delete pipe. So, if I ever get tired of listening to the CTD sing, I can just swap out the pipe with the muffler that came in the kit (hasn't happened yet).

Keep in mind that it will be even louder towing... I went to LA for Katrina relief with my trailer, drove home non stop (few food stops, fast food.) That pipe roaring got a little old. But not too bad. But it is freaking LOUD.

Guys, I have a MBRP cool duals muffler bolted on to my stock exhaust system using a 90 deg and it goes out the side infront of the duals at the high spot on the frame. I welded on two thick wall SS 45 tips that turn back and down. Everyone thinks it looks and sounds great. Without the 45's on the ends it was loud and annoying. No soot on the tires,rims or TRAILER which is what I was trying to do. The only other way I'd do it would be duals straight out the back. This way cut out all the bends in the e pipe and it is way less restrictive. I'll try to get pix. ks

I have RIP's shorty kit but with an MBRP muffler. LOVE it. The soot on the wheel is no big thing at all. It cleans up easier than brake dust.

Kirk, do a search, in either this thread or competition thread. There was a couple a threads a while back that had tons of pics, there was even one guy with a 5" side pipe goin into a 6"tip, I will look and try to find it.

Kirk, just found it. You can do a search with the word side pipe and it is on the second page. However it may be easier to do a member search and find Katmandu, go to his profile and look for all threads started by him, I believe he had 3 goin a while back about exhaust. The date will be early Jan. Hope this helps

Guys, Finally got a picture of my sideout exhaust. We just had a blizzard over the last day and a half so the trucks a little mud, ice, and snow covered but there ya go. It may take a while for the picture to clear the academy judges. ks
