Angry elect short where do i start

i Have A Dead Short In My 93 350 4x4 It Is Not Blowing A Fuse. It Is However, draining The Battery In Approx 48 Hours. I Made Sure Every Thing Was Shut Of And I Mean Everything. When I Disconect And Reconect The Ground There Is A Small Spark. I Went To The Rear And Repulled All Of The Trailer Lights And Looked Around. I Saw Nothing Out Of Place. I Do Notice That When I Put My Right Blinker On That My Alt Gauge Needle Jumps A Little. Can Anyone Run Me Through The Processes Of Chassing Down A Short.

Thanks In Advance Cls

So your only symptom is the battery going dead in 48 hours?

Wish I could offer some help. Basically my reason for replying was to give you a BTT because mine does the same thing. As in small spark when reattatching the battery cable. I'm sure mine is like you suspect yours is, in the trailer hookup wiring, or in my case even the tail lites in the flat bed. But honestly, I haven't been too worried about it I have WAY bigger fish to fry with this truck right now!

Good luck man

First, tape the dome light switch down or wedge something in so it won't turn on (unless you can crawl in and out the window). Put a test light between the negative battery terminal and the cable. Start pulling fuses out of the fuse box. When the light goes out, you've found the bad circuit and we can narrow it down from there. If the current draw is not enough to light a test light, use an ammeter.

Check the cig lighters. Make sure there are no coins in them.

To find out which circuit has the load pull the fuses one at a time and see whick one still sparks alittle. You may need to do this at night. Also, at night, sit in the truck & see if there are any instument lights on, window button lights, ect.

Most common problem is the light staying on in the glove box. Remove the bulb to test. I also noticed that when I first connect the battery I see a tiny spark as soon as it makes the connection. If I immediately disconnect it and reconnect it there is no spark. Anyhow it now can sit for a week without any battery problem.
