E Brake Compressor Died need Suggestions
As the title states the air compressor on my PacBrake died and I have ordered a larger unit to replace it.
The old unit had a 25% duty cycle and the new one will have a 100% duty cycle.
Where the suggestions are needed is in the mounting location. The original was under the hood attached to the intake horn and manifold, but the new one is a bit larger and will not fit properly in the same location. The new one is a Viair 350c and is dust and moisture resistant. I live in the great NorthWet so moisture is currently the issue but I will be retiring in a few years and moving to NM.
Where would the best place to mount the new pump be?
TIA

I'm putting my tank and compressor on the driver side frame under the cab but it's dry here. Put it somewhere cooler than under the hood and move the inlet filter (with a hose extension) to a dry, clean location. Craig
Yeah, Craig, I know how dry and hot it is in Buckeye as I grew up in Gila Bend. I don't miss August and September there nor July for that matter.
I am looking at the same side and general location for the new mount but am also looking at inside the rail rather than the outside. I am also looking at doing a stainless steel U shaped mount bracket to give a bit more protection from the water we have here. I am considering putting the inlet filter in the air filter box.
