Door fix

I read on here one day that there is a fix for your door if the top is bent out. It causes the door to have a gap at the top and dosent realy shut soildly anymore. Anybody know what im talking about? It involves a 2x4 and some other methods, but i cant remember how it goes. Anybody done this?

One of them posts lost due to the first half of today not existing

Open the door, roll down the window, put a 2x4 about where the latch is, close door onto 2x4 (gently).

Gently push on top of door, above window.

Remove 2x4, check for fit.

Repeat process if necessary.

Some don't even use the wood,
just put their knees about middle door (from inside),
and pull on the top of the door gently instead.

Yup, I've done this on a few vehicles myself. Works great!

So that's what happened, could have sworn I replied to several threads but my posts were gone. Thought I was losing it.

The method used by body shops involves rolling the glass completely down to avoid breakage first. Place your knee against the door pillar(outer edge) and pull the door frame top in, a little at a time, until it fits correctly. I suppose a 2x4 would save knee strain, and you can push against the top, but the body shop guys all use the former method.
