Where does the rear diff. vent tube clip?

Where does the rear diff. vent tube clip?
I was doing some work under my turuck earlier this week, and just this morning someone mentioned to me I had a rubber tube hanging on the ground under the rear end. I looked and the vent tube came unclipped from it's home. It all in tact, and I clipped it to the shock bracket, but I was wondering if someone knew where it is supposed to go?

It's up on the frame, cross member by the spare tire.
