Did my DIY intake

Since I have the "mod bug" and just bought the truck yesterday, I decided to do everyone's homemade intake and took the baffles and silencer ring out.

WOW

The whistle is at least twice as loud as stock. I love it. Now I can't wait to get my muffler and maybe cat delete pipe/s on.

Thanks everyone for the knowledge on this forum...

The baffles in the straight tube use a hacksaw blade or something similar and cut them vertically near the center, they then just pop out. As for the white vanes I would leave them in as their function is direct and straighten out the airflow before it heads into the turbo, taking the white vanes out will likely cause turbulence and essentially a negative affect on the airflow. Loose the baffles but not the white vanes IMHO.
