d250 into a 4 wheel drive...

I'm sure its possible but I was thinking what the best/safest way to go about it would be?

probably using stock springs and OEM components off of a donor truck installed in the factory locations.

Step Two: Buy a W250

You may think I am being sarcastic but it really would be best and probably cheapest.

Just read your other post. Sounds like you have a good deal on a D250 5 Speed. I would pick it up, fix it up, drive it. If a good deal on a W250 or W350 comes along you can always swap later. I did see a 90 W250 the other day for sale 4k I they were asking.
