Curious to know if this is an easy fix

On my W250, everytime I go for a fuel fill up and leave the pumps, I notice that my OEM fuel in tank guage pointer takes about 20 minutes before it moves from empty (or where ever the pointer was at before fill up) to the full mark. What would cause this?

Float part ways full of fuel? That would be a fairly easy fix but would require dropping the tank.

Big, check for a dirty ground or corroded connector ontop the tank first...

I have a similar problem, and havent worried about it. As long as it doesnt drop to "E" within the first 100mi, leaving me blind, I dont really care.

That said, I'd think of the float being partly filled with fuel. ALso may be sticking somewhere along the line of travel.

Start simple (cheap) and work yuor way up.

Nope, easiest is cutting a hole in the bed directly above the float assembly lol, then making an access door. Not that I have done it, but I've seen it done.

Thanks, guys. I'll look into the easier fixes 1st such as this one and the dropping of the tank will be the last move. Thanks, again!

If you do decide to pull out the tank, here's what you're after.

Check the sticky about the big fuel-line upgrade. I've got pics there about removing the level sensor if it'd help.
