squeaking, huh? Stock Clutch? Have you been slipping it with that Predator on it? Most likely you're already close to needing a replacement. That's good and bad, good because you can ditsh the Dual Mass Flywheel, bad because it is $$$$$.

From: Boerne Texas,
Yes the Predator is pretty impressive, had the triple dog on for a while but wanted more and i have a friend w/ smarty on his 06' and he love his smarty of course. Well also I think I have U-joint issue also because when in 2nd ,3rd and I take off and cost back to a stop and leave it in gear w/clutch out I am hearing something squeak, but also i am ready to get the a new clutch but on the fence about Valair or SB, and i think i may want a dual disk. But will these kits replace the dual mass fylwheel, ot is that going to be a separate purchase, I just want some thing reliable and strong of course, I think w/ all my mods I may hit 500hp, or just under, i may need an air dog or fass to get it the truck at full potential

IMO stay away from Valair, too many bad things about them. Get you a SBC or Haisley, Peter from SBC is on here posting alot, and he stands by his products very well. If you don't want more than 500hp a Con OFE single would be just fine. A 3250DD will support over 600hp, have lighter and close to stock pedal pressure, but you won't be able to speed shift it as quickly, and its more money than what you may need.

Thanks for the insight, it looks like you are making more power than me and is the Con OFE holdn up ok to your mods(turbo,smarty,mp-8,air-dog) and what kinda numbers are you makin? I dont play often but when I do I will be beating on her prety hard, and I need her to take it, this is my dayly driver, but I do plan on some stixx and turbo in the future so I don want to out grow the clutch. An back to my orignal problem... I think it's the u-joints so those will be replaced in the AM befor work, any particular brand you guys think I need to get? Some thing strong of course and greasable.
Thanks
Kyle

THe OFE is fine, but by no means a suitable clutch for 3rd gear burnouts and constant dragging, being it has an organic side and a feramic. i tow frequently, abuse it pretty hard and it holds good. But I don't race much. As far as mods go I daily drive at about 450hp but have run at close to 500 at times. I need to get it dynoed but the closest dyno isn't so close.

Thanks, I will keep you informed if there is a dyno day in S.A. and may you can make it out, hopefully my new SBC will be installed, I dont need to a 3rd gear burn out but it would be fun at times, but I do want to be able to shift hard and fast, now off to replace u-joints.

Heck yea that'd be cool, a good buddy of mine has family in Boerne and Bandera. His grandpa used to own the Feedstore in Bandera. Let me know plenty in advance and we might be able to show up man. I'm not too familiar with SA though.

As far as the u joints go, pesronally I would go to Napa and get some because I used to work there, so I would suggest that to you. Never had anyone come in and complain about them.

If you can afford it, you may be happier with a DD3250 because it will be a little more forgiving on boosted takeoffs and provide a bit more life if taken care of.

sbc 3250 dd impressions.

I drove an SBC 3250 DD which was installed on an '05 G-56. It only had about 200 miles on it. Street manners were fine with idle rpm engagement smooth. Neutral noise was tolerable too. The only thing that bugged me was the reluctance for low speed 2nd gear downshifts. You had to double clutch or at least rpm match on the way down or it'd grind everytime. I don't know if this will eventually go away but it would be a nuisance in traffic. Pedal pressure was similiar to stock w/hd upgrade.

Thanks for the input ^. I'm a NV-5600 man myself...

On that note...I have a friend with an 07. He has the Con FE clutch and is very happy with it. Granted he doesn't do burnouts or boosted launches, but he towS LOT!

I will keep you informed if there is any thing going going on in SA, and I will look at the DD but I cant find a price, it looks like the Con Ofe is about $1,400.00 w/ hd, so I wonder what the DD will cost, I dont think I will be doing ant boosted launches but no telling what will happen after some "colorado Koolaid"....lol But after this clutch i am getting the Air Dog because on Extreme RKL I am sure I will start draining the rail and my injectors wont have any fuel/lube!

If you don't have gauges that would be one if not the first on my list of things to do. Give Peter a call at Southbend Clutch, there supposedly is a budget DD clutch that would be comparable to the OFE.

I will get a hold of him thanks for some "inside info" but funny you mention guages in my garage is a dual pillar and a boost and pyro phantam II's, you wouldnt be able to give some good advice on install for these? Also i am ordering a sterring column gauge pod for my rail press. but what do you think of those pods, and how will it look, i want to look clean and natural like the 2 guage pod in the pillar.

Used to have the 2 gauge pod, now have a 3 gauge. Looks good. I'm not sure on the Autometers but on mine for the boost you need a boost bolt and tubing kit. On the pyro you will need the probe, drill and tap the exhaust manifold, and an amp box. Maybe someone with autometers will chime in, they may be different. You should be able to get everything you need from www.dieselmanor.com
