Class action suit for 53 block

Anyone else get the post card regarding the lawsuit against cummins for the dreaded 53 block?
www.cumminspickupblocksettlement.com

hope this will help anyone who had to deal with a problematic engine block, looks like a 500.00 settlement-probably not even close to what had to come out of pocket to repair a bad block- but it is somthing- good luck guys!!

$500? I understand that it can cost $5000 or more to replace the block or engine.

Wonder if you can still collect that money if you sold the truck? I got a card and had issues with 53 block but sold the truck 5 years ago.

I'll take $500 for the replacement of my crappy cracking dash.............

If MY block cracked, $500 wouldn't hardly cover the shop fees, much less parts and labor.

If you have a 53 block and it has not cracked is it best to opt out so you can try and get funds at a later date. If you do nothing you get nothing and cant sue at a later time.

i have 2 of them, the 99 is leaking right now. it's not being driven, just setting at the shop waiting for someone to pull the engine out (me).
i have a Mexican block and all the gaskets, rings, bearing bla bla bla to fix it up all ready.

i am filing a claim ASAP. it meets all the requirements except for the 4" exhaust and the FASS.

I just talked to the attorney representing the 53 block owners and he said it was hard negotiating to even get the $500. They figured in lots of things and is based off of two companys that are fixing them for that price.

I looked at my 2001 2500, made in late in 2000. It is not a 53 Block YES. Nothing for me to do here.

Maybe we should get ahold of these lawyers to go after Chrysler for our cracking dash problems!

most common place it left side front, bottom of the block below the P/S pump.

I would just take the $500 for having a 53 make it over 400k .
