bought an 05 got some questions

Well i just bought a 2005 3500 quad cab short bed single axle truck. its got a 6 speed in it with a bully dog power pup and dual exhaust. I have a bunch of questions. i plan on buying guages in the next few weeks and hopefully a smarty. after that it will be a dual disc and then.... give me some opinions to make this truck quick. thanks guys

heres the questions

FIrst off the most important, its to quiet has anybody straight piped the dual exhaust. Or would anybody have any ideas how to. i figured just a y pipe or somtehing but i dont want to mess them up so that more smoke comes out one side than the other. Does the company that makes the dual exhaust sell a straight pipe kit does anyone know.

NExt one, The truck came with a bully dog powerpup and i was wanted to get a little more power. Im looking at buying a new smarty with the tnt or the revo. how would that stack with the bullydog. should i just take the bullydog out and leave the smarty. i would eventually like to set this truck up for drag racing but that will be down the road.

Ok, i know that the 05 trucks came with the g56 tranny but mine is just like my 03 and the reverse is all the way to the right and up. so i wasnt sure if this was a nv5600 or a g56.

Ok i think thats it. thanks again guys for all the help and knowledge that you give. I appreciate it. have a good thanksgiving weekend and all that good stuff.

MBRP sells 4" dual kit, which I currently have on my truck, and they also sell a muffler delete pipe and a cat test pipe which will eliminate the cat as well. I am running mine with no cat and I am very happy with the sound. Shop around but Diesel Manor and Thoroughbred Diesel offer some good deals.

IMO dump the Power Pup and go with a Smarty, I have heard alot of ECM's have been fried by BD programmers. Also I don't believe you can stack two programmers that use ECM and OBD port to program the truck.

05's built before January had the NV5600. Be glad as the final gearing is more economical. On the down side, those same early 05's had the plastic tanked CAC. Nice reason to upgrade though. I found a metal tanked CAC and made the switch. POMG.

No lift pump worries with an 05, and all the interior gremlins of earlier years or later years got missed in an 05. Congrats.
