Bottom turbo?
Bottom turbo?
Hi, all. I just recently got a big turbo for free. I can't find much info about it so I'm asking here.
It's a Airesearch model TV 7705. All I can find is it fits a Komatsu SA6D125 engine which is about 11L displacement.
Rough measurements are a 62mm compressor & a 77mm turbine. As it didn't cost me anything, I'm wondering if a compressor side change would make it usable as the bottom in a twin set?

I'm no expert but I'll say that the 62mm compressor is way too small to be a primary, the stock turbo you have has a 60mm compressor.
The most common S400 most guys use is an S475 which has a 74mm inducer. The smallest primary that most would use on a 5.9 Cummins comes from BD using a modified S300 with a 66mm compressor.

Thanks. That's what I'm looking for. I know the 62 is too small, so I need to know what size the compressor, & exhaust are on a S-400, & S-475 so I can have the housings changed to get the size I need. I still have my stock turbo, so I'm looking to use this one with it to make a stock/S400 set for towing.
I have more info now. There is an outfit that has a 74 X 102 X 56 trim compressor with a .60 A/R in stock for the intake side. Now My question regarding the exhaust side. This one has a turbine with aprox a 77mm X 11 blade(don't know the inner dimention yet) with a 1.15 A/R. Will I have to change out the exh wheel for a 88mm? & will the 1.15 A/R work with what it's got? If it will work I can have the turbo set up for about $300. & all I need to do is get the plumbing, & I'll have a stock/S-475 equiv. twin set.
