block heater?
Seeing the post about what weight oil got me to thinking,,,, bad thing of course, I live in the south, but plan on going to North Dakota here in the middle of October for a week of hunting waterfowl.
1/Do I need a block heater, or just good batteries?
2/Does all trucks come with the heater (probably not, but I had to ask), if it does, where abouts do I start looking?
Thanks,

You'll be fine, just make sure you have good batteries and that the grid heaters are working. No plug in required...
I started my 2000 at -30F without it being plugged in...

You should be fine. I had one bad battery and the truck barely started in 40 degree weather unless it was plugged in. Got the battery replaced, and it started the rest of the winter, even when it was 20 below, and if not plugged in, it'd still start although I try not to leave it unplugged. If you are worried about it still, the plug should be up under the bumper on the passenger side. Middle of October can't be too terribly cold up there, anyways.

Thanks,,,, had no idea it had a heater, I thought I'd seen everything on that truck as much as I crawled over, under, around, and in that thing.
