Back up light wiring issue.

Hi guys,
I have an 06 2500 and am having problems with the aux. reverse light I wired in. I mounted a small Hella light on my rear bumper that contains two bulbs. I wired it into the reverse wire on the trailer connection box so that it would come on when I put my truck in reverse. It worked well for about two months but recently I lost power to the stock reverse lights and the aux. reverse light. All other lights and blinkers still work. Do you think this is a computer issue? All fuses are fine. If it is a computer issue, is there a way to reset the system without having to go to a dealer? Thanks for the help

I would think unhooking the batteries would reset the ecm/ pcm.

The engineer geniuses at DC put several of the trailer functions in the Front Contol Module on the 2006 which means it isn't serviceable. The whole module has to be replaced (if that is actually your problem). There are a couple related threads on this about 2006 trailer turn signals not working. I think yours is the first regarding reverse lights but my guess is it's the same problem since you can't find any blown fuses.

To make a long story short...make sure you remove your aftermarket backup light and any extra wiring before going to the dealer!!!

P.S. I guess you could also have a reverse light switch on your tranny TU.
