Air shut off install

I'm going to put a pre-turbo air shut off gate and am wondering how best to do the cable.

I have a 1/4" flexible copper line run from the rear to behind the turbo and will use an 1/8" cable with split rings on each end.

My question is how much slack to leave in the cable. It is a sliding gate type shut off activated when the pin is pulled. Also should I run a cable to the cab?

Any help appreciated. I know many places have different rules but I'd like to find a reasonable starting point.

Paul

leave about 6 inches of slack in the cable at the most. an in cab would be nice cause if your accelerator sticks you can shut it down manually.
