Smile Air Ride Or Not?

Went to Joplin today and stopped @ Chrome Shop Mafia. They had a half dozen air ride seats on the floor. Is it possible to put these in our trucks. They looked and felt like they would take the ride out of a W350. If they would fit (many different heights & widths)all I would need is a compressor; Right? Thanx Again!

If you have a 5 speed, I would suggest something in a low back. I put in aftermarket highbacks w/ console (regular cab) and the back doesn't recline much at all. ( Not sure of your cab config.)If you move the seat up it will but, you're too close to the pedals. I'm 6' tall and it was a real pain after awhile. Otherwise I think it is very doable. Put in some supports where it bolts down and an on board compressor. Maybe its an alternative to air ride suspension systems. I never gave it a thought. If you have a clubcab you have it easy as far as choices.

The vast majority of air seats are more "chair-like" than I think would work in a regular pickup, at least a later-model kind like ours. That is, you're pretty high up off the floor and you sit more upright, compared to having your legs out in front of you. The air seat will also move a few inches up and down and maybe even side to side a little bit when driving.

You don't necessarily need an air compressor either, air seats on heavy trucks without air brakes usually just have a hand pump on the side, or you could just use a regular air chuck or bicycle pump.

Or a 5lb tank of CO2. I carry one anyway to blow up tires when needed.
