everyone seems to like there afe stage 2 intake but i also hear unless you are over 500hp than the stock intake with a bhaf does just fine. I figured save 400 bucks and i just swiss cheesed the stock airbox and removed the baffling in intake tube and silencer ring.

big hunkin air filter, and just remove the air box, drill a bunch of holes in the bottom. there are 2 ways to remove the baffling in the 5 inch intake tube that goes to the turbo, either pop off the top and just pull it out, and reglue the top back on, Or you take a sawzaw and cut the baffling out, i just removed the lid with a screw driver and glued it back together with gorrila glue. If you search for air silencer there are a couple of pics in some threads that show you what it looks like and for me the easiest way to remove it was to take a pick, pry up the edge of the retaining ring just enough to get a small flathead underneath and then just run the pick along the ring to get it to pop off. But you will see if you do a search on the subject.

S&B has served me well, not to mention it is very nicely priced compared to most systems.

kinda hard up for time and cash. i'm driving cross country to get married and my buddy with a chevy is making a contest out of who's got the nicer truck. i have a loan of a programmer if i want but i'm concerned of down the road damage. my friend has nothing done to his truck (performance wise) and i have access to a pprogrammer but really don't want to wreck my truck! it's my thirrd new truck in 4years and they aren't getting cheaper lol. thanks
