Angry Air Dog fuel pressure install problems!!

Just wanted to share the issues I recently had with my Air Dog 100 install.

I ordered the LP at the same time, a full set of ISSPRO gauges. Because of a couple of back ordered items, only the Air Dog was shipped out right away. The install went without a hitch, and there appeared to be a lot of flow while bleeding the system, so I figured every thing was good to go. 2 weeks later, my gauges showed up and the install was started with the FP gauge. I have only recently purchased my Dodge and starting to gain knowledge on my Cummins, mostly from this site, but I do have 40+ years of being a wrench at an advanced level. Bottom line here is, after starting my truck, I only had 2 psi of pressure!! After checking it with another gauge, then directly at the pump, I confirmed it was accurate. I called the Air Dog folks and had to leave a message as no one would answer the call....... I continued my trouble shooting thinking something might be stuck in the check valve preventing the pressure build up. The check valve here is a rubber ball and a spring behind the return fitting to the tank which came assembled, and there is no reason to remove it during the install unless you want to replace the spring with the stronger one for more pressure, which is included with the pump. This is where it gets special!!! After removing the fitting and spring, I discovered the ball was missing!! I then called again, left another detailed message, with no reply..... I felt after a couple of hours, I should hear something, but not! I then called the supplier, who claimed to have the personal cell phone number of Anthony, the tech guy. I called Anthony and explained the problem. He was very receptive to my situation and shipped one out no charge for next day Air. On a sad note, he did not seem to be surprised or question anything. I did express my concern of running my engine for a couple of thousand miles with limited pressure and I was concerned about the damage I might have done to my IP. I was told I would be called back, but that has not happened. I'm sure it will be the old story of no one is responsible when we do modifications to our vehicles, and we takes our chances when we do so.

Moral to the story is, install a FP gauge!!! And to the new Air Dog installers, it might be worth an extra minute of your time to check the valve while its still sitting on the bench. Other than my minor problems......I'm happy with the pressure and ease of replacing the filters and draining the water.

I hope this helps someone not to have to deal with the frustration that I did.
