Angry ABS and parkingbrake lights are on

Both have been on for a couple of weeks now. I've replaced the abs sensor on the rear diff. because it was bad,did not fix the problem. That lead me to check the abs computer under the hold and low and behold it was bad. to confirm I replaced it with one I knew was working and that fixed the problem. So I really only have two questions.

1: Does anyone know if it's avaible anywhere else other then at the dealer, very pricey.

2: Since the new would have to be cailibrated I thought I'd have them enter the correct tire size. Unfortunately their computer does not go as high as a 315/75/r16 tire. Does anyone happen to know what the revolutins per mile is for this size tire? All the web sites I've checked did not have any information.

Thanks

Have the dealer set the revs per mile for your tires at 599. That's what I had mine set at and it reads dead on. You might try looking at a junk yard for a the computer.

Yeah, most 315 tires are 599-602 revs/mile

285s are typically about 625 rev/mile

stock 265s are about 652 rev/mile

Adjest your rear shoes and see how much play you have between them and the drums. My drums were so then that the shoes totally adjusted out barely touched the drums. I replaced the drums and the lights went off immediately. No definite but check this as it is easy to do. Take care. Aaron

Thanks for all the replies guys, unfortunetlly it turns out to be the rear wheel abs controller. Is it a dealer only item or is there an aftermarket company producing such items out there somewhere?

Thanks

When I was looking for an aftermarket RWS sensor,,,,, I thought that either NAPA,,, AutoZone,,,,,, or AdvanceAuto websites listed the controllers, but no wheel speed sensors. You can check by going to their websites.

That's the exact same thing that happened to my '96 ram. Too many powerbrakes at the drag strip.
