I found a 93 W250 auto diesel cheap. I don't really need another truck but for a good price I just might buy it. Anything in particular to check on for this year?
What trans is in it, A518? They say 2nd gear is gone.
What IP is on it, VE?

 

A518 with a VE. Rebuilt/remanned 518s can be had pretty cheap.

 

Watch the frame at the power steering gear box, n rust over the windshield.

Better call round for quotes on a tranny rebuild, ive heard low ball, ive heard insane numbers. However its a good time to throw a good torque convertor, 2nd gen flex plate, n other goodies at it too. Check out Suncoast, DTT n there r others.

rust over the windshield is not fun to deal with. it rots/rusts from the inside out and theres not much you can do to save it..

 

I just priced a tranny from Sun Coast for my 92. They said it's $2,100 plus another 650 for the converter. $800 core charge Not to bad IMO, for a built tranny that is...

 

wow, thats not bad at all, for some reason I was thinking over 3K for just the tranny. I dunno why, but i was. That is good to know.
