2001 2500 5.9 6 speed 196K

changed my master and slave when shifting problem began acouple of months ago, added 1 litre of Dodge tranny fluid, still have bad shifting up and down sporatically with 3 and 4. noticed today the shifter seems to have more play than i recall. In 6th at 100km i can pull toward the seat the shifter down 1 1/2" plus. anybody experience this before? thanks

 

I heard something about the shaft coming loose from the ball at the bottom before, but not seen it. Maybe take the shifter off & have a look at it. It only takes about 20 minutes to have it off.

I would say check the shifter first too. Hopefully its not the guts of the trans. I have been through all of that! What a pain
