Power Steering Trouble, Still...

Alright, I can not figure this out. Give you all the story;
a couple months back I was having a number of steering issues so I thought I would go in and breath new life in everything. I replaced my original worn out steering box, power steering pump and both supply and return lines. Since I have had nothing but trouble trying to get the lines to seal and properly bleed the system. I have had the front up countless times bleeding, etc. it works great for a day or two then back to square one, a big foamy mess. I know I first have to address the leak but I simply can not get the supply line to seal to the pump. The lines in and out of the steering box are solid but it is the pesky supply (high pressure) line that leaks. I have tried a dozen or so different o-rings and still nothing..

So I turn to you all. Could it be the pump threads were bad out of the box? Has anyone had similar trouble with Napa p.s. pumps? Should I just install another new pump? Will that fix it? I am wondering what I am missing?

Any thoughts would help.

Thanks!

Your definately sucking air in the system , could be defective pump threads or could be cracked. Wouldn't hurt to try to get a replacement and hope that fixes it.

Yeah, I have checked all of the fittings. I have tried 12 different O-rings on the supply line to no avail..

I will stop by Napa and see want they can do for me...

Sooooooo, I replaced my power steering pump about 6 months ago, but it started doing the same thing. I looked all over for an obvious leak, but everything was bone dry and clean and looked tight. I put my number 16 wrench on the fitting where the high pressure hose connects to the pump, and it was about a third of a turn loose. Tightened it, no more problem. The surprising thing is how clean and dry it was and not THAT loose. I'm beginning to think that this is a precision machine Mark
