5600 repair

Smile 5600 repair

well, i put truck in shop today. estimated cost for new syncros is between 800 and 1500 dollars.... i`ll go to the shop thursday & take pictures of problem & post them

What lube are you using? I have been told that most failures of 5600s are due to the factory fluid and it not being changed often enough.

I use MTL for this reason-- so far so good; it's a LOT smoother, and that makes me feel better for the synchros.

i put it in six states shop at 1388s 300 w.. they did o good job on my clutch so i put my trust in them for this job. as far as tte lube , i have been useing oem (three changes in 113000 miles) until the last 600 miles ,ithen changed to redline MTL..but i think i was too late,
