5 gal. airtank...Where to put it?
I am adding On Board Air to the truck, to run exhaust brake, air bags and etc. (read big air horns). But where oh where can I get this 5gal tank mounted on the truck, I have crawled all around under it and cannot find a suitable spot.
Truck is 2007 QC 4x4...any ideas?

does it fit between body and frame rail under the bed of the truck ? that was where I was going to put mine but I measured wrong on my 8.5 gallon tank and ended up with a spare tire in the bed and the tank where the spare was.

I may sound dumb here ,but what size is the Air tank that comes with the Pacbrake? THey mounted mine behind my front Drivers side headlight. Probably not as big as yours However..... I opted to put my spare tire in the bed of my truck as I figured it would be easier to get at in the middle of nowhere pulling my trailer. It's chained to my gooseneck hitch! Much eaier to change diff fluid as well.

I haven't installed mine yet but I made room next to the fuel tank when I ran the exhaust out the side. By turning it out in front of the rear wheel I opened up a large space. Perfect for a five gallon tank and now I have 5 feet less of exhaust piping under there too. I was able to modify my existing 4 inch MBRP stainless system without any tube bending, just some cutting and welding.

is your truck lifted with bigger tires? Since i have 37's on mine and can't use the spare, that is where both of my 9 gallon tanks went.

In my "Sand Dune Riding" days we used to build tubular bumpers, weld them up good out of thick walled pipe and use them as an air tank.
You could also use your spare tire as an air tank, as long as you have an onboard compressor, this will work slick as moose sh--!

what are the dimensions of your 5gal tank? I've got a 10gal tank mounted between the bedside and the frame rail on the driver's side of my '98. I haven't looked under my '04, but I've got to assume a 5gal tank will fit

No truck is not lifted and I have no plans to do so anytime soon, I already have a height issue with it and my 5th wheel.
As for dimensions of the tank, right now I am a couple hours away from home and will be so for a couple weeks it looks like right now, so going out to the garage and taking a measurement is a little tough.
I did slip it up over the rear axle and it left about 4-6 inches of room there between it and the axle, but I was too worried about putting it there.
Between the bedside and frame rail wont work, it is too long and/or too fat...I don't remember which one.(I know I attempted to put it there, but it would not fit)
So I guess the options are to find a smaller diameter tank (or a couple of them), buy a tool box to put it in, or buy a sliding tonneau.
