I ordered a 4' down pipe and adapter from Rip this evening. I know that I will need to harvest some metal from the trans cooler braket and that welding is needed to reuse the old flange. Any words of wisdom before it gets here? My good friend from Georgia just bought a wire welder this past weekend. I sure hope he lets me try it out.

 

The only thing I wish I had done, was to tack the DP while it was attached to the turbo. Cause after it was all put together i had a lot of pressure on the exhaust housing after bolting it to the bell housing.

Bolt it to the bell housing then do a couple tacks to insure there isnt any pressure on the turbo.

My welds cracked, but i was being conservative with the heat too, I dont weld much, and I REALLY didnt want to ruin a 180 dollar DP.
