370s help

370s help

well im going to get a set of 370s im pretty sure and i want to know if i keep my pump close to stock can i run a stock turbo with them just driving around? cause im 16 i cant afforde a 1500 dollar turbo any time soon. and i was between two companys farm boy diesel and coaltrains who do yous like best?
any help would be awsome cause i would really like to know if i need to hold off or go a diffrent route on injectors.

Yes you can run 370's with the stock turbo just puttering around, but I hope you already have gauges (didn't look at sig.) With stock pump settings, it shouldn't get to hot.

I'm not sure about either of those companys, but I know people with New Era 370's absolutely love them.

I went the cheap route, and bought 2nd gen 370's and had the nozzles put on my 1st gen injector bodies.

Make sure they know the injectors are for a 1st Gen. The spray patterns are different between 1st and 2nd gens.

you will be fine with the stock turbo. You could tow with them just fine also.

thats sweet. was kinda afraid of putting that size injector on with the stock turbo. and how do you like your coaltrain injectors?

With mild pump tuning, your stock turbo will be fine. Don't go crazy though.

well i have my smoke screw bottomed out and my afc is one turn from bottomed out but my full pwer scew is in the stock location. is that too much

The fuel screw is all you really need to worry about. So if it is in the stock location, yep, it's fine.

my injectors seem to work just fine.

yea wish i still have to get some money but i think i should have a set in the near future.
well i think i leave the power screw alone till i get a better turbo dont feel like frying the poor little h1c.

Just driving around, you wouldn't have to worry about EGT's. When you are towing is when you really have to keep an eye on them.

My advice is, after you install the injectors, take the truck for a spin, and get some baseline numbers. After that, start tweaking the pump until the EGT's get out of hand. Then back it off a little bit.
