I just put in a 3250 DD and it rattles a bit loudly. It is especially noticable under acceleration and at idle in neutral with the clutch pedal not depressed. The noise goes away when the pedal is depressed. It seems to amplify the engine noise. I just wanted to make sure this is normal. Actually, I like the extra sound at idle, but I don't want something to be messed up.

Also, it no longer makes a terrible noise when the engine is shut down when the clutch pedal is not depressed. Maybe that had something to do with the old flywheel.

 

Also, I did remove the washer behind the pivot ball per the directions.

 

A Fluidamper harmonic balancer will quiet things up quite a bit. It did on mine..

mine rattles just slightly. you can hear something different when running down the road too. but it is normal with 127 lbs of items spinning in the bell housing!!!!

 

Ok great, I don't care if it makes noise, as long as its not screwed up somehow...

 

Umm, not really. Call Peter w/ SBC. I have that same clutch and while it rattles only when the clutch is pushed in not when Im driving down the road.

 

Mine makes noise with the clutch out idling, clutch in is a different sound... Driving I dont hear it at all, truck is too loud... Only time I would hear it is lugging the motor bad...
