2008 Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Hey guys I was wondering if atone has figures out a way around the tpms. I'm not interested in using the sensors in my new 20's. I was thinking about maybe drilling 3 holes in the factory spare and installing all the sensors in it. Has anyone found a way around it??

Unfortunately, putting them in the spare or a piece of sealed pipe aired up to 65psi or anything like that won't work. The sensors are revolution based; the wheels turning is what keeps them working. I have read a couple of threads of people claiming their dealer has found a way to adjust the pressure at which they trigger an alarm through the StarScan but I have PM'd every one of these people asking about a step by step or even the contact info for their dealer so i can contact the tech myself and have not received any information so it leads me to believe they were BS'ing.

At this point, i think we are still at a stand still with them. I sure would like to see that light disappear, myself.

On my new 08 Ram, I had the light on from day one. I pulled into the gas station; filled all tires to equal pressure; and hit the ESP button (Electronic Stability Package) and the light went out. Have not seen it again! The manual says that after you fix the tire pressure you may have to drive for up to 30 miles before it resets. JB

Yeah that's what I figured. I have done slot of research and have came up empty. I wish someone would come out with a programmer that would just turn it off. I'm not gonna fight the tire pressures. I run 60 in the front and 80 in the back at times. I wonder if the tpms is just a module plugged in somewhere?? I guess for now I can deal with the four dings and the stupid light.

There are a couple different sensors in different places on the truck that pick up the signals from the 4 wheel sensors. Putting all the sensors in the spare, which I considered also, will not work because the truck sensors up front would get no signal and make the light come on.
If you are keeping 60-80 psi in your tires then you should have no problems with the TPMS but you would have to reuse the sensors which probably won't look the greatest in your aftermarket rims...

yeah for now im not going to be putting the sensors in my new wheels. They wont look all the great im afraid. Im just hoping someone comes up with an idea that will bypass them or just get rid of the whole system all together.

Well, what I was gonna do is put one in my spare and put the other three just inside the tire before it was mounted. I was going to wrap them up somehow so if I ever needed the spare they wouldn't get damaged as I drove down the road. I guess that if you could figure out exactly where the monitors are and you could move them all to the back of the truck then this idea may work. I don't know if it's feasible though and I didn't feel like messing with it.
