2-1/2" or 3" crossover?

Title pretty much sums it up. I am going to upgrade the '89 with a 60mm compressor with a 2-1/2" outlet. Will build a new crossover to fit. Should I just make it the same size as the outlet or will 3" be better?

For you guys that have done it, you swap the plenum cover end for end? Is this necessary or just makes it a straighter shot?

Thanks

The air is cooling down as it crosses over the motor, so going larger then the turbo outlet isent a problem I went with 3" when I upgraded my turbo, I do still have one extra mounting flange I had made that is out of 1/2 steel.

PS I am using a air to water intercooler that is 3"aswell.

You wouldn't happen to have pictures of you air to water intercooler setup? I am thinking it would be easier to go this route than trying to fit a air to air one in there.

I flipped my intake plate end for end (pretty much a straight shot), and I made mine out of 3". I deleted my grid heaters altogether.

I forgot to mention, but yeah the grids are going too. Will probably retro-fit them onto the grader.

Already have the gasket for the plate. Have contemplated building a new top altogether. We will see.

3" it is.

Thanks Guys.

I can take pictures tommorow its not complete yet ordered my silicone couplers a few days ago. I am using a geo metro radiator with a flexalite fan using a ford intercooler pump for its own closed loop air cooling system.

make an account at a place like photobucket.com and upload them there and then it will give you a direct link to the pictures. you want the one with the . post the code in the reply box here and it will show up when you post.
