I been looking at my turbo that I got off of ebay and I think it is off of a 1999 not a 98. It has 2 bolt holes in the exhaust flange.Is it still going to need to be cut down the inch and a half?

 

You will need a different backing plate for that turbo.

 

what plate would that be?

 

The plate that covers the back of the turbine housing, the elbow with the bolt holes is part of the plate. You need one off an earlier truck that used a clamped on elbow.

Speaking of different plates... I have a 14cm w/g housing and I was going to trade another member for his 12cm because it would benefit both of us. He sent me the 12cm without the plate on the back so naturally I was just going to swap mine onto it. I took the plate off and went to bolt it back onto the 12cm and it was different. The 12cm had the normal 6 bolt holes and my 14cm has 10 or 12 bolt holes. Where did my 14cm come from and would a cooleze megamouth d/p work on the 14cm even though the pattern is different? This boggles me
