suggestions on bumper for 2013

Other than a chunk of 9inch "I" beam this is by far the toughest and heaviest bumper I have come across, I just looked for a weight but the shipping material is gone. The 2 of us couldn't lift it I used a skid steer plugged into the 2 inch front receiver to move it around. The attach points are 3/8, the sheeting 3/16 and the shackles 1 inch, very well made with internal structure, I think they would hold up to a deer with no problem and the lights are well protected. Total shipping to North of Edmonton was $515 plus GST and brokerage at the border. The front bumper is Backwoods basic "Basher" that includes the upper light bar and coating in the price for $1750 with some items added. The rear one is again their base for $650 made of the same sized material as the front one.

I got a ranch hand on my 3rd gen, it does rust easily, but that's easy to fix. It's a nice number, stout. I got mine as a "dent and ding" $350 shipped to my buddy's garage! Busboy's kid's bumper looks like a nice quality bumper for a pretty good price though.

Talking of bumpers for the 2013/14's you should know that to get the original front bumper bolts out it's necessary to remove the intercooler, I was hoping to be able to cut off the heads but there just isn't enough room. With the original bumper removed there is plenty of room to reinstall the intercooler though. The LED's are so bright it's like having the sun strapped to the front that you can turn on with a switch. I'll post up some pics of the LED's once they are approved.

Thanks for the great review Busboy! It's been forever since I've been on DTR, so I just wanted to check in. Did you ever get a chance to get some installed pictures? And yes, I did my first install a couple months ago on a 2013 and got that nice intercooler surprise...... However, once the intercooler was removed, the install was easier than the 03-12 trucks due to all the extra room. Also, after looking at the new intercooler design, we're now looking into building an integrated skid plate as an option with the bumpers. They really left the cooler low and exposed! Any thoughts?

It was my son who ordered them for his truck, he did send some pics but the light was poor and the truck dirty from a 2700km trip so he'll have to take more. I was very impressed with the quality of your product, as for the skid plate for the intercooler... The stock bumper including trim was deeper so did protect it some from rocks being thrown up from a vehicle in front but that trim would be ripped off when off road. Perhaps a skid plate might be in order, I like the intercooler being open but depending on the replacement cost that might be a bad thing. I'm hoping to see the truck tonight so I'll take a peek underneath and get back.
