Hankook, Cooper, Goodyear? Which ones?

Looking to get new tires.
Hankook AT'Ms, Cooper ATR, Goodyear DuraTrac , General AT2's or Firestone Transforce AT'S. I plow snow in the winter and drive on the beach in the summer. Also was debating to go up in size to 285/75/17 to try to gain some mpg's, but worried that snow traction will suffer and pushing power. Please no Pro Comp talk because I tried to get the buy 3 get 1 free deal and they are out of stock.

I'm having real good luck with Bridgestone. They're the Dueler AT Revo.

I would really look at the Hankook ATM RF-10's. They are a great tire so far. Excellent in the rain and snow. If you look at the Revo's and compare them, the Hankooks weigh 69 lbs and the Revos weigh 51 lbs. Must have more steel in the tire. I think these Hankooks are going to give the others a run for there money. They are a great price point as well. I put 10,000 km on mine so far and they show no signs of wear. Time will tell.

I used to run the BFG A/T's and got 90000km out of my first set and was on sched for 90000 on my second set.

I have the hankook's also. I don't have very many miles on them yet but they have been good so far. I did have one that was out of round and wouldn't balance, but the Americas tire company that I bought them at replaced it with a good one at no charge. They are made in china, but so is everything anymore.
Mine are 285/75/16's, that's what was on the truck when I bought it, so I can't compare them to the stock size. The truck doesn't feel like it's down on power though.

I was going to get the Hankook RE-10's several months ago but they were a new tire and on backorder, I went with Toyo's, I would have Goodyears on anything I own, too many problems & too much weight to balance

They’re more of a mud terrain than an AT.

I had 285 ATR's and would not recommend them. They're only D rated, I had 2 flats in 6 months while towing on the highway going about 110 KPH, by the time I pulled over and changed them and had took the tire to a shop they told me the sidewalls were shot. BOTH times!

Make sure you get an E rated tire if you pack a load.

Hankooks here. Been great in rain and snow when hunting. Quiet tire and so far I have 22,000 on them and they will make it at least that much further before needing replaced. As pointed out already, they are a heavy tire.

I have pretty much the same truck as you and I lost 2 mpgs when I went to 285s. In theory it's possible you gain very slight amount on the highway (4%), but the extra friction from the tire width more than negates any ratio gains. Around town, stop light to stop light, is where you lose most of your mpgs. 285s also cost about $40 more per tire.

However, the truck sure looks better with 285 and does much better in snow and sand than the stock Michelins (my only point of referece). I'm looking to replace my wore out BFGs (lasted 35k) with 285 Hankooks this month. Sears supposedly has them for about $850 out the door.

So far Hankook seems to be getting the good reviews. I also would agree with johnh and never buy Pirelli's.

I've had the ATR's and they were great. Got about 45,000 out of them. I was able to get them in in an E rating. Trust me when I tell you they are deceptively good in the mud. Clean out pretty well at high rpm.

A few of my co-workers have fords and they run the Firestone Transforce. Does anyone have experience with these tires. When I look at they they look more like a HT tire because of the closed shoulder, but the two center rows of tread are very open with lugs.
