Question Secondary Fuel Filtration Wanted!

Hi guys! I have been researching the threads about the lower micron fuel filtering setups. I would like to install one, but not sure which setup would be best. I have kept my truck pretty much stock since day one when purchased new. Current mileage is 318k plus some. I have never had any injector or injection pump problems or major engine problems. I also tow 40' and 45' gooseneck trailers cross country. I change my fuel filter at every oil change between 7500-10,000. I have been getting 19.2-19.8 mpg's empty hand calculated.

Based on the above, what setup should I go with without compromising anything? Also, would installing the unit under the intake horn between the stock fuel filter and injection pump before fuel enters the CP3 be more efficient? Thanks!

You're on the right track. Keep searching and look at the pics of the installs. Pick out which one will be best for you based on installation and cost and go for it! Anything that is filtering to 2 micron is great.

Is yours under the intake? This is the kit I want but not sure if my Amsoil bypass filter will be in the way.

Time to search for more pics!

Yeah, It's mounted on the back of the intake horn and hangs the filter under the horn.

I'm not following about the smart alec comment. Under the intake horn is the standard position for a 2mic filter setup. The other is on a bracket off the head right in front of the horn.

Like I said GDP MK2, they make both.

If you go to their installs page you can see pics and install instructions

Nothing of the sort!!

I just got done with some PM's with Shorts. I'm not sure the GDP with big line kit will fit with my Amsoil bypass filter. Here is my filter set up

Shorts is going to take some measurements. I'm crossing my fingers I can squeeze it all in there! But looking at their instruction pictures I'm not too sure.

My bad! Having a stressful evening so I probably read into things to much. I was thinking you probably thought I was nuts mentioning under the intake horn to mount the unit. Come to think of it now, that location isn't good. I wonder if relocating the stock fuel/water separator unit to the firewall and putting the secondary unit in stock units original place would work.

Have you done an oil analysis comparison since you installed your secondary oil filtration unit? If so, what were the results? Starting to think I should do that one first since the engine cost way more than the injectors and cp3 does.
